Originally by: CCP Pann As I see it, the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Nobel Market. Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters. Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna. I would appreciate it if you would confirm my observations or tell me what IÆm missing, but I do ask that you do it in a productive way.
You're missing everything entirely. This isn't about any one issue, or even any small group of issues, the forum rage is about the direction you (and by you I mean ccp) has been taking eve for the last year(s). The sentiments being expressed on the forums in mass now has been a long time in coming, waiting just under the surface. This travesty of an expansion was enough to make it reach critical mass.
The recent chain of actions by ccp has without a doubt confirmed that they have zero interest in the wishes of the players, and have in fact forgotten what it is that makes eve a unique and immersive mmo.
Back when incarna was first announced, it was made quite clear by both the players and the developers that incarna must be optional. Apparently you (ccp) have forgotten what "optional" means. You were reminded again when CQ was demo'ed, and again when it was up for testing. Yet you ignored it completely and pushed it through. Now it takes you 3 days and 6 pages of threadnaughts to finally realize "oops, I guess they really did mean it when they said it should be optional". Tons of great feedback was given before this patch was released, but you (ccp) blatantly ignored it (see akita's thread about making CQ not hated and also the testserver forum).
Several years ago when the idea of microtransactions was toyed with, it was mocked by a large portion of the ccp staff, and almost all of the players. In the event that microtransactiosn ever happened, it was made quite clear that they must never ever effect gameplay other than cosmetics. Now that microtransactions are implemented, there's a leaked internal newletter arguing for gameplay effecting microtransactions. Do you really expect us to have any trust in you (ccp) anymore after blatantly ignoring all of the great feedback about CQ? I honestly will be surprised if I can't buy skillpoints (should I ever resub, I likely won't) for AUR by this time next year.
I think that what the playerbase wants to hear to start with is: 1) microtransactions. We need a solid statement that we can hold you (ccp) to about the extent of them and what they'll involve. If your (ccp's) vision is to ultimately make eve a pay to win game, then so be it. Most of us have unsubbed anyway, and the forums are already full of rage, so you don't have much to loose. At least we'll (I'll?) respect you for being honest about it. (even though it took 7 pages full of threadnaughts to get there) 2) Why was the current iteration of CQ released in the state it was in? It was made extremely clear that it needed to be optional, with the hanger view remaining and a "disembark" button in order to move the CQ. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |

I want to believe that, Manifest.
I really, really do.
Me to, but I don't. Not for a second. Especially not after this abomination of a patch and the blatant ignoring of how to make it not suck. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |
